Opinion:
The existing constitutionally derived laws, have provided American Catholics the greatest freedoms experienced by any peoples, are being overturned and subjected to a dictatorial intrusion. This mandate, as presently defined, is an intrusion, which is undeniably directed at the heart and practice of our religion. These laws are unequivocally dictating processes and directives, which strike at our long held beliefs and understandings of Family, Marriage and Abortion. We were not afforded a "noncompliance position" known as a "special religious exemption" because of our beliefs, but instead we are told we will have to change and come into compliance. That action would place us, as a people of God, in a condition of being subservient to an environment of evil, and that condition of existence should be one that Catholics can and should not accept.

There is little doubt in the mind of the Church's leaders that the Administration if given longer to ply its agenda, that it will attempt to decide <b>just what constitutes a religious employer and in doing so; it will deliberately act to <b>separate the Catholic Church from its ministries. Stated thusly, the idea persists in those hallowed halls that the Church receives far too much positive recognition from its ministerial activities. The administration wants to destroy the Church's reputation in the success she has garnered in all her ministries. Why? Conjecture is put forth that the Administration's forces see ahead, to a time, when they can get the vast majority of abortions approved, if accomplished chemically and not surgically. In pursuit of that ambition they want to staunch any opposition from the Catholic Church that it may offer. Because, as is known and noted, the Church is the only real opposition they face on this issue.

I know that there are members of this congregation, which think that in taking a position, which you might find objectionable, I am without standing. However, I willingly take this stance because I deem it as a cardinal point in America's body politic and I would stand alone if necessary to oppose the US government interfering with any aspect of my Religion, its practices, its Dogma and its people. We have been placed at an unwelcome crossroads by a secularist government that deems Religion not necessary and an interference with its objectives. There have been many articles written suggesting that this is a tempest in a teapot issue, because many states across America already require the action the President has proposed, those arguments descend to the level of local skirmishes and need to be worked out in those locales according to Church teachings. HHS Mandate on the other hand is plainly a smart slap at the Catholic Church and its intrinsic rights. Whether you do not follow the church's teachings on abortion, homosexual marriage or contraception is not what this battle is about. Those issues, and how you personally deal with them is between you and God.

The mandate has been decided for the time being to be Constitutionally ordered, however the law is unjust and impinges on our Catholic teachings and can be overtuned, by our political action in the near future.
